"It's a platform for people to have a dialogue," she says. "There's so much negativity and misinformation out there. This is a way for people to simply appreciate that there are other aspects of American Muslims that you're not seeing in the mainstream media." While on assignment for @NatGeo for our National Parks Series I travelled to the glacier several times with a group of climbers. We skied and hiked as much of the #GreatRuthGorge as we could to photograph these liquid sapphires, which somehow still shined bright on even the darkest and cloudiest of days, like portals into another world. I started saying "rent's due" to myself when we were evicted when I was 14, as a personally motivator to hit the gym and workout. But what's funny about that is technically there was no actual "rent due" considering we didn't have a place to live. 😂 I got lucky along the way, because these days I'm not getting evicted, but I'm still up at 4am dropping sweat, because the rent's due.
